1. Bill is the author of seven novels, including the critically acclaimed crime fiction series about New Orleans police officer Maureen Coughlin. His most recent Maureen Coughlin book, THE DEVIL’S MUSE features Maureen’s first Mardi Gras. 

    Bill’s other novels include THE DEVIL SHE KNOWS (2011), which featured Maureen’s debut, the second Maureen Coughlin novel, THE DEVIL IN HER WAY, which was Strand Magazine’s Novel of the Year for 2013, DOING THE DEVIL’S WORK (2015), an Indie Next pick and Vulture Must Read, and 2016’s LET THE DEVIL OUT, a Boston Globe Best Book of 2016. 

    Bill’s stand-alone novels, BLOODROOT (2009), and FRESH KILLS (2008), are set in Staten Island, NYC, where he grew up.

    In 1997, he moved to New Orleans, where he has taught high school and college, worked in an antique shop, and done absolutely everything there is to do in the bar and restaurant business (except cook). He received his MA from the University of New Orleans in 2005. 

    Bill lives in New Orleans’ Irish Channel with his wife, AC Lambeth, a writer and yoga instructor, and their dog, Roux.
